The Arts Council curates five galleries on the first floor of the 1876 historic Cabarrus courthouse.  The Galleries display works by regional and national artists working in a variety of media.  Exhibitions, which feature regional, national, and local artists as well as some touring shows, change approximately every two months.

The Galleries host artist talks, Art Walks, movie nights and other special events.  The exhibited artwork is for sale, and a Gallery Shop is filled with less expensive pieces for special gifts.  Volunteer docents are trained to give tours of each exhibition.

Five spaces make up the Galleries, including four named for and by local civic leaders:  the Judge Adam Grant Gallery, the Martha Hughes Dusch Gallery, the Elizabeth Coltrane Jones Gallery and the Lockavitch Gallery.
