Cabarrus Arts Council grants support to community-wide cultural arts programs that are presented by non-profit organizations. Through such partnerships the arts council encourages the planning of arts events and the incorporation of the arts in non-traditional ways.


Kannapolis Summer Concert Series

This weekly concert series attracts audiences to the beautiful Village Park in Kannapolis throughout the summer. The Charlotte Symphony performs annually for an Independence Day Pops in the Park concert, complete with fireworks. The rest of the series includes beach, rock, and contemporary music bands. Sponsored by Kannapolis Parks and Recreation Department.

Spring Into Arts Invitational

Some of the region’s finest artists are invited to sell their work at this cultural arts festival in downtown Concord. Union Street is lined down the center with art booths, and jazz and blues bands take center stage throughout the day. Scheduled on the first Saturday of May, Spring into Arts attracts art collectors to this beautiful downtown. Sponsored by Concord Downtown Development Corporation.

Union Street Live

Beach Music takes the stage in downtown Concord on third Thursdays, May through August. The stage faces the lawn of the historic courthouse where people set up chairs to listen to the concerts. A dance floor on the street fills with shaggers and line dancers. Sponsored by Concord Downtown Development Corporation.

The Healing Art of Music

The Arts Council sponsors the Interlude music program that takes live music into the homes and bedsides of Hospice patients.  Hospice and Palliative Care organizes workshops each year to enhance the training of the volunteers who dedicate their time to palliative music.

Pops in the Park

Frank Liske Park is the gorgeous setting for this concert. A stage is erected beside the lake, creating a backdrop for a picnic and music. Featured performers have included the North Carolina Symphony and the North Carolina Jazz Repertory. Co-sponsored by the Cabarrus Arts Council, Concord Parks and Recreation Department and Cabarrus Parks and Recreation Department.
