Venue Description

The Davis Theatre is located on the second floor of the historic Cabarrus County courthouse. The former courtroom is accessed by matching curved staircases with elegant turned and molded woodwork that rise from the vestibule. A beautiful landing with a soaring ceiling leads to the entry stairs to the theatre. Elevator access is also available.

A lavatory and a suite which includes two dressing rooms and the Green Room are located on the third level of the building. This level is accessible only to performers, crew, arts council staff and volunteers on day of show. The elevator to the second floor is conveniently located near back stage.

Both dressing rooms are equipped with mirrors with make-up lights, large full-length mirror, clothes rack, iron and ironing board. Each room can accommodate 4 – 6 persons comfortably.

The Green Room has a small couch and a dining table that seats 8. Other amenities include ample counter space, a sink, microwave oven, refrigerator and coffee maker. There is a sound monitor that supplies house feed.

The lavatory is fully equipped with a shower, sink, toilet, towels and designer toiletries. It is located down a short hallway from the dressing rooms/Green Room suite.

“To know the splendor of the renovated Roy and Sue Davis Theatre, begin a tour in the star’s bathroom.” —Lawrence Toppman, Charlotte Observer
