Get Involved

GET INVOLVED
The Cabarrus Arts Council wants the community to be involved in our programs! Make new friends and learn more about the inner workings of an arts organization by becoming an arts council volunteer. We consider our volunteers essential members of the arts council team and we are always pleased to see new faces.
If you are interested in any of the opportunities below please contact Megan Sayre at 704-920-2787 or Megan@CabarrusArtsCouncil.org.
The Galleries
Docents
Volunteer docents engage visitors in interactive experiences that give them a new appreciation of the visual arts. We rely on our docents to create a memorable and enlightening experience for visitors of all ages. Our docents attend an orientation to each exhibition to learn about the artists and their work. Docents are required to volunteer for a minimum of three hours per month, greeting visitors, answering questions about the exhibitions and building, and helping with special events.
Davis Theatre
Ushers
The Davis Theatre presents performances and events that depend on volunteer ushers to make patrons feel welcome, safe and comfortable. Ushers may be assigned to take tickets and escort guests to their seats, to assist the box office manager, to help with concessions or merchandise sales or to ensure that the performers’ needs are met. Ushers complete a general training class and arrive early for each performance to receive instructions specific to that event.
School Programs
Students Take Part in the Arts
Over 30,000 students and teachers see professional cultural arts performances through this arts council program. Volunteer ushers help ensure children’s safety as they get off buses, arrive and leave performances. They also help children and teachers get seated quickly and efficiently. These volunteers have the pleasure of seeing wonderful professional performances and the delightful responses of our young audiences.
