Reinventing the popular show, "Dancing with the Stars," this spectacular fundraising event showcases local celebrities
paired with professional dancers, all vying for the GRAND PRIZE by raising the most money!

5:00 - 6:30 pm | Gala reception w/cocktail buffet
7:00p- 9:00 pm | Dancing for the Arts Showcase
9:30 pm – Midnight | Dancing Under the Stars afterparty

Location: The Davis Theatre, 65 Union Street S, Concord, NC

The dance pairs learn their dance steps, hone their skills away from the limelight, then come together to perform in a dance competition on the Davis Theatre stage. This gala evening is filled with a cocktail buffet, Dancing for the Arts performances, and an after-party where the audience and performers dance until midnight.

Dancing for the Arts History

In 2015, Scott Padgett brought down the house with his hip hop performance. In 2016, Ann Schrader and Bill Dusch battled onstage for the top prize until the very last minute!! Ann became DFTA's Grand Champion. In 2017, Joan Davis glided across the stage, collecting the top title in front of an adoring audience. In 2018, Dr. Mark Redding cinched the Grand Championship for his Weird-Science-themed dance routine on the Dancing for the Arts stage. In 2019 the Moonshot Award was created after Grand Champion Emily Davis broke the record by raising $17,078.33, more than any other dancer in Dancing for the Arts' five-year history. After a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, DFTA returned in 2022 with a new record-holder: Dr. Michael Johnson raised $19,107.34.

    Latest COVID-19 Guidelines

    As CDC and Cabarrus Health Alliance relax the COVID mitigation recommendations for our community, the Cabarrus Arts Council is happy to update our protocols to be reflective of the current climate. Please note the following guidelines when visiting us:

    Visitors to our Galleries and the Davis Theatre are welcome to wear masks and CAC will continue to make masks available to guests, but masking will no longer be required.

    We are no longer requiring the Davis Theatre audience to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.

    All staff and volunteers have shown proof of vaccination.

    If you become sick or exposed to COVID-19, please take care. We want you to be well. We recommend you give your ticket to a friend or donate your ticket purchase back to the Cabarrus Arts Council.

    Because the state of the pandemic is constantly evolving, the guidelines and policies above are subject to change based on revised guidance from the City of Concord, the State of North Carolina, the Cabarrus Health Alliance and the CDC.

    The Cabarrus Arts Council is dedicated to protecting the safety and health of all staff and guests entering the building. Our protocols are in alignment with many other venues that share the same goal – to keep live music from disappearing again. We hope you understand, and embrace the measures we're taking to keep you safe, our staff safe and the performers safe during these uncertain times. 

    Because the state of the pandemic is constantly evolving, the guidelines and policies below are subject to change based on revised guidance from the City of Concord, the State of North Carolina, the Cabarrus Health Alliance and the CDC.

    Proof of full vaccination or a lab-conducted negative COVID-19 test administered within 72 hours of the ticketed performance is no longer required for guests entering the building. All volunteers and staff have shown proof of vaccination.

    air orangeTo help prevent exposure to diseases, we've installed a whole building bipolar ionization air purification system to help clear the air of airborne diseases. Learn more about the Luxe Air Purification System in our video.

     

    cashless orangeThe Cabarrus Arts Council once again accepts cash, and will continue to offer touchless purchasing as well, including credit card or cell phone options to purchase concessions simply and safely.

     


    Ticketing Policy

    If you become sick or exposed to COVID, please take care. Stay home. We want you to be well. We recommend you give your ticket to a friend or donate your ticket purchase back to the Cabarrus Arts Council.

    Exposure to COVID-19 is an inherent risk in any public location where people are present. We cannot guarantee you will not be exposed during your time in the building. The Cabarrus Arts Council is not responsible for any exposure that artists, guests, or staff have to COVID-19 while in the building.
