THE GALLERIES AT THE CABARRUS ARTS COUNCIL FEATURING SEAGROVE POTTERY THROUGH DECEMBER 22
The potteries are Avery Pottery and Tileworks, Cady Clay Works, Dirtworks Pottery, Chris Luther Pottery, Crystal King Pottery and King’s Pottery. There are lots of beautiful pieces including vases, platters, teapots, candlesticks, pie plates and animal sculptures. Prices start at $14. The Galleries also are now offering a gift registry. Come in and make your wish list, and we will play Santa and let your special elves know what you would like to see under the tree. Besides the pottery, you may want to include some of the hand-crafted holiday decorations based on the book, The Year of the Perfect Christmas Tree, from The Galleries’ show, Home of the Perfect Christmas Tree.
CABARRUS ARTS COUNCIL CLOSED FOR THANKSGIVING
The Cabarrus Arts Council will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. The Arts Council offices and Davis Theatre Box Office are closed Monday-Friday, November 23-27. The Galleries will still be open for you to get a jumpstart on your holiday shopping Monday and Tuesday, November 23-24, but will be closed Wednesday through Friday, November 25-27. Tickets to Davis Theatre shows may be purchased online 24 hours a day at www.CabarrusArtsCouncil.org.
ART WALK ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 20
The biggest downtown Concord Art Walk of the year is coming up Friday, 6-9 p.m. You’re invited to stroll from shop to shop enjoying the artwork and camaraderie with your friends and neighbors – come early or stay late and enjoy one of Concord’s unique restaurants. There will be visual art displays at 16 locations. Some will have refreshments, live music and artists on hand to talk about their work. In addition, the City of Concord will have its Christmas tree lighting beginning at 6 p.m. and culminating with fireworks.
JEFF WHITTINGTON PRESENTS…BLUEGRASS AND JAZZ CONCERT THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 19
If you like great music, the Davis Theatre has just the concert for you on Thursday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m. It will include some of the best bluegrass and jazz musicians in our area. The concert will feature a bluegrass trio of Jeff Whittington, Tom Isenhour and John McLaughlin and jazz and pop standards by saxophonist Jack Murray and keyboardist Neal Davenport.
