DESCRIPTION:Step into a world of light and wonder at the Tianyu Lights Festival\, coming to Concord Mills from April 18 to June 22. Experience 25 breathtaking lantern displays\, an interactive illuminated playground\, and live acrobatic performances. Walk through enchanted lands\, meet talking parrots\, and explore an underwater kingdom—all glowing with color and creativity. The show will be open Wednesday through Sunday nights in April and May\, and Tuesday through Sunday nights in June\, including the popular Easter and Memorial Day holiday weekends. Entry times begin at 6:30 p.m.\, with the last entry at 9:00 p.m. every day.

DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Mt. Pleasant Library are proud to announce the Children\, Adult and Teen’s lineup for our 2025 Literary Festival. Eric Litwin will perform three shows where he sings and dances and tells us all about his Pete the Cat books. We’ll have Joan Holub lead a graphic novel workshop. Kimberly Wilson will teach our elementary children draw and learn about his popular series Owly. Dr. Sadie Leder will lead a special story time to tell us about the trouble Boopers the Bad Cat can get into! For the Adults\, Craig Johnson will be here all the way from Wyoming to talk about his popular Longmire series\, which has been turned into a popular Netflix series. Mary Alice Monroe is releasing her first adult book in four years and will be here to tell us all about it! We are also hosting Inspirational author Lauren Denton\, local author Emily Francis\, Peot Maurice Manning and new up and coming author Terah Shelton Harris. For the Teen group\, Megan Shepherd will be offering a writer’s workshop. We have an exciting line up for ALL Ages! \nThanks to the gracious donations from local businesses and a grant from the Cabarrus Arts Council all these events are FREE! DESCRIPTION:Piedmont Community Band is excited to announce our inaugural Carolinas Community Band Festival on April 26\, 2025\, from 11 a. m. to 4 p.m. at the Kannapolis Performing Arts Center! A celebration of four local symphonic community bands and talent from right here in the Carolinas. Each band will give a concert of approximately 40 minutes\, allowing everyone to enjoy their music and experience their style. We will also have local music related vendors showcasing their services and products. Lastly\, like any proper get together\, we will host local food trucks for lunch and snacks! Admission is FREE! Help us put the ‘community’ in Community Band and support your local music programs with us this coming spring. Who knows – maybe it will be you dusting off an instrument and joining us in years to come!
