SUMMARY:Unspoken Tradition
DESCRIPTION:Mountain Home Recording Artist Unspoken Tradition is about new\, original bluegrass. Inspired by their own influences and the roots of traditional and newgrass music\, this North Carolina based quintet brings a sound that is both impassioned and nostalgic\, hard-driving and sincere. Recent singles have charted in the Bluegrass Today top 5 including three songs to hit the #1 spot   “California”\, “Darkside Of The Mountain” \, and in January of 2024\, “Weed’s Don’t Wither” \nTheir material is mostly original and reflects the ever-changing culture of Western and Central North Carolina where they call home. The band has earned a fervent following in the Southeast\, selling out shows in Asheville\, NC as well as the legendary Station Inn in Nashville\, TN. They have also performed twice on the coveted Watson (main stage) at MerleFest. With heavy airplay on Sirius XM’s Bluegrass Junction and ever-growing streaming numbers\, Unspoken Tradition is a fast-rising voice of a new generation of roots music artists.

SUMMARY:Living Room Reading Series: The Boys in the Band
DESCRIPTION:Jonathan Ewart\, Director and Producer of the Living Room Reading Series\, is excited to bring the series back to OCT and the Wilson Family Black Box Theatre for its 15th Season.    The Series has planned a series of 9 readings for its Crystal Season. The events are held at 4 pm in The Wilson Family Black Box Theatre.   Jonathan covers the cost of each production so that all proceeds benefit Old Courthouse Theatre.    There is no set admission charge.     Concessions are available.   Mr. Ewart states that the Crystal season consists of nine award winning plays.  The Boys in the Band written by Mart Crowley.  Synopsis:  In his Upper East Side apartment\, Michael is throwing a birthday party for Harold\, As the evening wears on – fueled by drugs and alcohol – bitter\, unresolved resentments among the guests come to light when a game of “Truth” goes terribly wrong. Winner of the 2018 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play. The Boys in the Band\, is a Samuel French Title and is produced by an agreement with Concord Theatricals.
