DESCRIPTION:The Piedmont Choral Society (PCS)\, the region’s premiere auditioned chorus\, is setting the stage for its biggest holiday season yet with the presentation of “Christmas Time Is Here.” The popular concert series featuring the 80-voice choir\, with orchestra\, will be held at a new\, expansive venue: First Baptist Church\, 200 Branchview Dr SE\, Concord\, NC 28025. \nUnder the direction of Artistic Director Joseph Judge\, the “Christmas Time Is Here” program is designed to be the perfect “jump-start” to the Christmas season\, blending lively arrangements with treasured classical pieces. \n“I’m both thrilled and humbled to be conducting my thirteenth Holiday Concert with the Piedmont Choral Society\,” said Judge. “This year’s program\, ‘Christmas Time Is Here’\, blends the sacred and the secular\, featuring jazzy favorites like Barbara Streisand’s ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.’ We’ll also present two beautiful fantasy works by Ralph Vaughan Williams\, including the Fantasia on Christmas Carols.
