Sands of Time is a collection of cast glass objects created through the lost-wax process. Each object refers to a moment of play in childhood, such as dollhouse furniture and tiny teapots. The initial inspiration for the coloration of the forms drew from my personal childhood collections. The heart sand art bottle has seemed to exist in my life for at least twenty years and I have no clue how or why I have held on to it for so long, until now! The layering of the color in the original form makes no sense but I love each line of color, it shows an action, a moment of change to mix up and make the sand art as awesome as can be. In essence, Glass is a form of sand and its ability to mimic this playful childhood act of creativity has done justice in this series.
