Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get to the theatre and where can I park?

There are several parking options in the downtown area, including the Cabarrus County Parking Deck, a 614-space deck located at the corner of Corban Avenue SW and Spring Street SW. Visit our Plan Your Visit page for a map and detailed information.

What time should I arrive for the performance?

Our building opens one hour prior to curtain with wine and beer available for purchase on the front lawn or within The Galleries. During this time, you can enjoy The Galleries and visit with your friends. Make sure to arrive with enough time to park and find your seat. Theatre doors open 30 minutes prior to curtain.

What happens if I arrive late?

In consideration of the performers and other audience members, you will be asked to wait for an appropriate pause in the program before you will be seated. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to curtain.

What should I do if I can’t use my tickets?

If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible. Our intimate theatre seats 227 guests and we want to be sure that each seat is filled. We recommend you give your ticket to a friend or donate your ticket purchase back to the Cabarrus Arts Council.

If you would like to give your tickets away to a friend, simply send them your e-tix link email or call the box office before 4:00pm with the new guest information.

If you donate your ticket purchase, you may consider it a TAX-DEDUCTIBLE donation. When requested, a letter will be sent acknowledging your contribution of the price of the tickets.

What types of concessions are available?

Wine, beer, soft drinks, water, candy, and snacks are available for purchase one hour before each show. Come early to enjoy a glass of wine or craft beer with friends.

May I bring my child?

The Davis Theatre is for everyone, but not always at the same time. Evening performances are selected with adult audiences in mind, and parents are asked to use discretion and to be respectful of other audience members. Matinees may be a better choice.

Our Family Shows series offers perfectly selected performances for young audiences.

What happens if there is bad weather?

Performances will be cancelled only in the following situations:

  • Performers are unable to travel to the theatre.
  • Overriding action taken by civil authorities, such as the imposition of a curfew or an enforced travel ban.
  • Interruption of utility services to the building.

Tickets will not be refunded for those who choose not to attend a performance.

In the rare instance of a show cancellation:

  • The Cabarrus Arts Council will post the cancellation on our website Home Page and Performing Arts page.
  • We will send an email to ticket purchasers to inform them of the cancellation.
  • We will make every effort to reschedule the performance and will honor the tickets to the cancelled show.

Our hope is that patrons will consider the ticket price a donation to the Cabarrus Arts Council if the show cannot be rescheduled.
