Mt. Pleasant Literary Festival 2026

Join Friends of the Mt. Pleasant Library for a celebration of books, authors, and the literary arts at the Mt. Pleasant Literary Festival: Chapter 2: The Story Unfolds, coming March 19-21, 2026 to the Cabarrus County Library’s Mt. Pleasant Library branch in Mt. Pleasant, NC.
From preschoolers to adults, #MPLITFEST has authors and programming for everyone! Meet New York Times bestselling authors at the festival, with Meagan Church, Kate Quinn, and S.A. Cosby headlining each of the three nights. Join us for interactive drawing workshops with Brian Anderson and Hope Larson, and bring your littles for story time with authors Ashley Belote, Maya Myers, and Derick Wilder. Homeschool and elementary age kids will enjoy two different STEM-focused programs with Annette Whipple, while aspiring writers will want to secure a spot at Cathy Pickens’ writing workshop intensive. Learn about novelist Tita Ramirez and mystery writer Caleb Wygal’s journeys, and be sure to make time to see award-winning sci-fi and fantasy author Beth Revis as she discusses her latest YA romantasy. Investigative journalist Valerie Bauerlein will have a Q & A regarding her work investigating the Murdaugh murders in SC. Come hear prize-winning historian David Goldfield share details of his upcoming book, exploring an important figure in NC textile history. This year also brings master storyteller Donna Washington to #MPLITFEST, where she will share a can’t-miss program for adults.
The Friends of the Mt. Pleasant Library are proud to partner with local indie bookstore Editions Bookstore as the official bookseller for MPLITFEST 2026, so be sure to check out their table with all the festival authors’ books available for purchase and signing.
