Flat Footed Truths: Stories of Lived Experiences is a juried quilt exhibition featuring quilts and fiber art that depict the soul-stirring, truth-telling, and compelling stories of African American women.

This exhibit is named and influenced by the book written by Patricia Bell-Scott, Flat Footed Truths: Telling Black Women’s Lives.  These stories and the truths they tell come to life in this unforgettable exhibit.

Free Community Workshop

Making a Traditional Log Cabin Quilt Block

  • July 11, 2026 | 10 – 12 pm or 1 – 3 pm

In this workshop, participants will be introduced to making a traditional log cabin quilt block while learning the significance and history of the block. All materials will be provided

About The Galleries

The Cabarrus Arts Council curates four gallery exhibitions on the first floor of the 1876 historic Cabarrus courthouse each year. The Galleries display works by regional and national artists working in a variety of media.
