The Cabarrus Arts Council offers a dynamic lineup of programs designed to make the arts accessible, engaging, and fun for all ages.

Families can get creative during Family Days, where hands-on activities and performances bring The Galleries and Davis Theatre to life. Students Take Part in the Arts introduces K-12 students to professional performances that enrich learning and align with state educational standards. Art on the Go brings art experiences directly into the community, while Art Labs and classes offer exciting opportunities to develop new skills. Visitors can also enjoy interactive activities in The Galleries, and explore local creativity during Art Walk. No matter your age or interest, the Cabarrus Arts Council has something to spark your imagination!

Family Days

Join us for Family Days, a free, fun-filled afternoon of art and exploration! Kids can create at Creation Stations, tour the latest exhibition in The Galleries, complete an I Spy Scavenger Hunt, and enjoy performances or movies in the Davis Theatre. Outdoor activities on the historic Courthouse lawn make each event unique!

When: 1-4pm
Who: Ideal for preschool & elementary ages
Cost: FREE

We’re excited to make Family Days even more inclusive! Activities are now available in Spanish, with volunteer translators from our community partner, El Puente Hispano.

Gallery Activities

The Galleries offer hands-on experiences that invite visitors to engage with art in exciting new ways. These activities go beyond simply viewing—encouraging students and families to experiment, play, discover, and create while making connections to contemporary art techniques and ideas.

Explore activies in the Art Nook, Think About It!, and the I Spy Artwork Scavenger Hunt, each designed to spark creativity and deeper engagement with the exhibitions.

Art Lab

Designed for students ages 6-16, Art Lab offers an engaging way to explore the latest exhibition in The Galleries through a guided tour and interactive art-making experience. Participants will discover artistic techniques, themes, and inspirations before heading into the lab to create their own masterpieces.

When: First Wednesday of every month
Cost: $10 per student
Capacity: Limited to 15 students
Registration & adult supervision required

Art on the Go

Art on the Go is our exciting traveling arts activity series that brings creativity to you! We provide the craft projects, expert instructors, and all the supplies—you just bring your imagination. Whether it’s a community event, school program, or special gathering, Art on the Go makes it easy and fun for all ages to explore their artistic side.

Art Walk

Gather the family and head to downtown Concord for a day of fun at Art Walk, an all-day arts festival celebrating handmade artwork from local artists and makers.

Enjoy live music, food trucks, local brews and wines, and special participation from downtown shops and restaurants. Be sure to stop by The Galleries to explore our current exhibition and browse our gift shop featuring artwork from local and regional artists!

Classes

The Cabarrus Arts Council offers a variety of engaging classes throughout the year, providing opportunities for all ages and skill levels to explore their creativity. From painting and sculpture to photography and mixed media, these hands-on classes are designed to inspire and teach new techniques. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, there’s always something new to discover and create. Stay tuned for upcoming class schedules and join us to expand your artistic skills!


Students Take Part in the Arts

Each year, the Cabarrus Arts Council brings professional performances to K-12 students, sparking imagination and bringing the curriculum to life. These engaging programs are aligned with the Common Core State and North Carolina Essential Standards, ensuring an enriching educational experience.
