Mallory Spagnoletti is a painter and papermaker from the mountains of North Carolina. She comes to the Cabarrus Arts Council with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts and a minor in communications from Appalachian State University. Prior to college, she interned with the Surry Arts Council and Andy Griffith Museum as an office assistant and curatorial intern. Shortly after receiving her degree, she completed a fellowship program at the Taubman Museum of Art in Roanoke, Virginia. In July of 2023, she taught an introductory class in papermaking at Clifton Forge School of the Arts.
Her personal practice focuses on capturing a memory and making it into a tangible memento that will outlive herself. She has been exploring the recollection process, which allows her to let her memories emerge the way they exist in her head. Mallory approaches art making in a lot of different ways, most of which consist of process over the product.
She enjoys teaching others as well as participating in artists' workshops herself, adding as many tools to her belt as possible.
